Professor Jianmei Lu is vice president of Soochow University.She is currently a Fellow of the Chinese Chemical Engineering Society and Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), a member of the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Ministry of Education of China.

Professor Lu has presided over 16 national key projects such as the National Key R&D Program, the National Science and Technology Support Program, and the National Natural Science Foundation Key Projects, 16 provincial and ministerial projects, and 32 industrialization projects. She leads the construction of two national platforms of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission. She received the second prize of the National Technology Invention Award (2), the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award (1), the first prize of the Ministry of Education Natural Science Award, the first prize of the Jiangsu Science and Technology Award, and a number of other provincial and ministerial first prizes (5). She has published 341 papers in internationally renowned SCI-indexed journals including J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., and Adv. Funct. Mater. with over 7,000 citations and an H-index of 41. She has published a book and co-authored two books. The doctoral students under her supervision have won one “National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation” Award, four “Jiangsu Excellent Doctoral Dissertation” Awards, and the master students she has supervised have received two “Jiangsu Excellent Master's Thesis” Awards. For her outstanding supervision work, she won the honorary title of “The First Top Ten Graduate Tutors in Jiangsu Province.”
